Corn syrup is an inverted sugar, which means that it prevents the formation of sugar crystals.
It can therefore act as an interfering agent. It is an alternative sweetener that can be used in processed and mass-produced foods, sweets, soft drinks and fruit drinks to help control costs.
Product in thick, viscous liquid form, used as an elasticizer
for fondants and sugar pastes or as a glaze to decorate
surfaces. It can also be used as a substitute for honey in
gingerbread cookies, giving shine to the gingerbread dough.
Added to the royal icing prevents staining.
